A few weeks ago I decided to start the feeding program that I have waited to start for a long time. In a vision to feed children with porridge it was challenging how it would happen. I didn’t have the means, the land to do it or even the set up but we did our first trial two weeks ago to feed children on Tuesday and on Wednesday at 6am before they go to school. We were not sure how many children would come on the first day and we were shocked to serve 522 children on the first day and adults. Where did they come from? How did they tell each other? As a few people decided to partner with Apostle Huldah Foundation on the feeding program in the last week, we were able to continue it. We are trusting to take one day at a time.
We went to the maize mill to mill a combination of maize, ground nuts and soya for a healthy nutritious porridge meal and it was refreshing to visit with the women who were helping us. Such a memorable time.
Now we are averaging 620 children daily and they are flourishing! Check out our feeding program 10 day review below :
FEEDING PROGRAM Weekly REVIEW
1. Tuesday, February 25th - 522 children and uncounted adults.
2. Wednesday, February 26th - 573 children & 47 adults totaling 620 people.
3. Thursday, February 27th - 610 children.
4. Friday, February 28th - 443 Children, 47 Adults totaling 490 people.
5. Monday, March 3rd - NO SCHOOL
6. Tuesday, March 4th -190 children and 15 elders totaling 205 people (children didn’t know we were open for the feeding program).
7. Wednesday, March 5th - 454 children and 25 adults totaling 479.
8. Thursday, March 6th - 620 children 15 unfed (no more porridge ).
9. Friday, March 7th - 669 children and 47 adults totaling 716.
In 9 days we served over 4,262 porridge plates to our lovely children. Who is like the King of glory? For a $1000 a month we can change lives and our children can have atleast a meal a day no matter what and they can concentrate in school and excel.
We are building the future relevant leaders of tomorrow! Let’s raise a new generation because the time is NOW! Oh Lord may God continue to supply for the needs of your children now and forever in Jesus mighty name.
